Thermal Belt Rail Trail
about our partnership
What do you call five town managers, county government, and some engineers? Not a very good joke, but it is the room we walked into. This was their first large project working together, and we managed to create a cohesive brand that visually connected their towns with a simple line and dot. Instead of different colors or shapes for each town, we developed one modern and clean brand.
This 13.5-mile converted rail line connects people from all over, providing a cohesive experience as they ride. Once divided in thought, this trail brought them together, united by a desire to grow and enhance both the health of their community and the richness of their lives.
what we achieved
Branding
Apparel
When you work out hard, you deserve to celebrate! Olympians receive one-of-a-kind medals, so the patrons of the 13.5-mile Thermal Belt Rail Trail should be able to celebrate too, right? That's why we created a series of branded merchandise, including water bottles, stickers, shirts, hats, beanies, and keychains.

Marketing
We started working with the Thermal Belt Rail Trail team from the very beginning, so it was natural for us to extend our efforts beyond branding and into marketing the trail. This included the design and installation of seven unique kiosks, one positioned at each parking area, to inform users of their location, provide trail information, and offer a moment of rest. These one-of-a-kind kiosks were created in collaboration with ASM, a fabricator in Charlotte.

Artifacturing handled every aspect of the project, including cartography, icon development, finishes, quoting, production, and installation. We also managed additional signage, such as mile markers, custom stop signs, and crosswalk stencils.

For marketing, we built the website, set up and maintained social media pages on Facebook and Instagram, and monitored the Google My Business page, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging online presence for the trail.
Work Stories
Artifacturing helped elevate our project and create recognizable brand and marketing materials that improved our visitors' access to quality information and the overall experience by weaving the brand and its elements throughout the entire design. Jenna and the team worked through our brand vision and brought creative and impactful insight to the process.
